Inspired by the need for a properly written recipe for a cherished dessert in my family I took my illustrative style in a different direction. Experimenting with how I want to portray the process of making the cake both through carefully selected text and sketches of the process. The color of the carrots heavily influenced my design choices as I wanted the cake recipe to reflect the pages it was relayed on.

I later expanded this project with a book cover design reflecting the recipes I learned as a student. I aimed to portray this book as student-friendly and student made in which my carrot cake recipe could be featured.
